We're Off!

We fly out today. The kids are so excited, they've slept in.

I have a nervous stomach... a little queasy. It can't be that we haven't spent enough time packing and unpacking our luggage. *sigh* Today comes whether we are ready or not.

The weather in Quito is cool - a high of 64 today. The beach is going to be 80-84. Life is good (I have to keep reminding myself that we are planning on having fun)

I think I need to move some stuff around again...

Adios Greenville

Spent a restful 3 days in Greenville, SC with mi familia. We had a wonderful visit which culminated in a wonderful send-off party Sunday night.

The Luxury of Grandparents

We area just cruising until the 30th and then we get to go to Miami for a switch flight. Meanwhile I'm laying in the lap of luxury of grandparents. This blog thing is awesome!!!

T-minus 2 days in Asheville

The girls moved out yesterday. The house is quiet but bustling, with furniture being moved around, the bathroom cabinet purge and last minute details to attend to.

I think I'm sort-of sleepwalking through the last days here. It's so surreal to see my bookshelves empty. In some ways it seems so far away. We head to Mike's parents on Friday. I think it will help my headspace to be away from Asheville - at least that part of the journey will begin.
